The CDHAW was founded in 2004 as a model project in education policy of the Chinese Ministry of Education (MoE) and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) at Tongji University Shanghai. It is represented on the German side by a consortium of 26 German universities of applied sciences, including the University of Applied Sciences Zwickau.
The CDHAW offers courses of study in mechatronics, automotive engineering, building services engineering and industrial engineering. Within the framework of these Bachelor double degree programmes, WHZ students can study in China for two semesters and additionally receive a Bachelor degree from Tongji University ("Double Degree"). However, a one-semester study stay ("Non Degree") is also possible.
